A Little Bit About Me
I was born in the Soviet Union and as you can imagine, I was raised in the Russian Orthodox system. I reverted to Islam at the age of 23. Most of what I learned about Islam before my reversion was from my own research about Islam with the helpful guidance from Allah SUBHANA WA'TA ALLAH. The reversion was quite natural from Christianity to Islam because of my strong Fitrah as I would never pray to Isa(AS), worship him in any way or ever ask Isa(AS) for forgiveness for any sins because I already knew as a Christian boy that only Allah SUBHANA WA'TA ALLAH possesses the supreme authority to grant forgiveness and redemption. I also faced a lot of discrimination and prejudice being half Russian and half Yemeni because a lot of families lost soldiers fighting in Afghanistan. The biggest reason I became muslim is not only for the pleasure of Allah SUBHANA WA'TA ALLAH, but because as a muslim I felt a sense of inclusion and acceptable regardless of what I look like, who my parents are, and I felt an instant sense of belonging, even though my entire life my father has not accepted me as his first born son. My mother did not want to become muslim, so he abandoned us both before I was born even though I have never personally done anything wrong to him. May Allah SUBHANA WA'TA ALLAH forgive him for it, and I wish no harm to him in any way. I pray that one day we get to speak at least before he is on his deathbed so I can tell him that I love him for the sake of Allah SUBHANA WA'TA ALLAH and that I forgive him for abandoning me.
