May Allah bless everyone pursuing to get married and ease their journey in finding the right life partner.
I’m a lighthearted and fun loving person who is mild mannered. I take joy in the small things that life has to offer. I value family life very much but at the same time, I would like to work and maintain a career after marriage.
Working in the public sector has taught me a great deal about social causes and I find joy in helping people. I would like to find a spouse with a similar interest as well.
I’m not too eventful when it comes to my hobbies. Here goes…I like aesthetic gardening (I’m an old soul lol). I have a vast array of flowering plants that I meticulously tend for during the summer months. It gives me great pleasure watching these flowers grow and blossom. I would also like to develop a passion for travel as I haven’t been to too many places.
I take marriage and Islam very seriously as I have the utmost desire to better myself every day. I try to be a good Muslim. I perform daily prayers, but work is just too hectic sometimes so I don’t typically perform Fajir and Zuhur (I know that shouldn’t be an excuse, but being honest here). Except during Ramadhan where I pray all 5 prayers on time. Having said this, I am actively trying to improve on the consistency of my prayers and my goal is to be able to wake up for Fajir on the regular, Inshallah.
I always have been fasting since I was young and Inshallah will perform Hajj someday.
In terms of my religious aspirations, I have many things I would like to improve on and I hope to find someone who would help me in that journey, and vice versa.
I find joy in discovering new aspects about my religion by attending Islamic conferences, watching lectures, etc. Inshallah, I want to find someone with a similar interest as well.
I did my honours in Urban Planning and Masters in Public Policy.
I would like to find a life partner that is knowledgeable and eager to learn more about the deen. Someone who:
- Has a sense of humour
- Is loyal and caring
- Doesn’t celebrate Mawlid or Shabe Barat
- Understands the role and obligations of a husband
- Is kind and of mild temperament
- Someone who is very humble and willing to teach and learn more about Islam
- Someone who truly understands the importance of compromise and sacrifice – it’s not only the girl’s obligation
- Is family oriented
For cultural purposes, marrying someone Sylheti, Bengali would be ideal, however, I’d be open to other South Asian prospects as well. My mother’s side of the family is from England and my dad has some family in the states, however, in the long run I would like to reside in Canada and more specifically, in Toronto. I don’t mind temporarily relocating somewhere else but for me, Toronto is home. Like I said, a marriage requires compromise and sacrifice from both parties.
Additionally, I am only interested in someone who was fully raised in an English speaking country – Canada, United States, UK, etc, for compatibility reasons.
**Please note, that my account is very closely monitored by my family (including my wali) and whatever communication is sent to me, gets sent to them as well.
