A Little Bit About Me
I see myself as a fairly grounded individual. Love spending time with my loved ones and believe the essence of life is about giving and helping family, friends and fellow human beings of all backgrounds, creed, colour and race.

Friends would describe me as loyal, passionate, thoughtful, caring and at the same time as someone with the courage of her convictions and not afraid to share her opinion even when it may go against the grain.

Find pleasure in the usual sorts of things: staying in, going out, travelling, conversation, silence, meditation, laughter, reading, arts, radio, cinema etc. Enjoy psychological thrillers and have an eclectic taste in music - from Rock to 'conscious rap' to Dawud Wharnsby Ali.

Not perfect by any means, but principled. I would regard myself as Sunni Hanafi in my practice but also ‘Just Muslim’. Wear hijab and do my five, while believing that practising one's faith is much more than simply completing prescribed acts of worship.

I believe there is a lot that can be enjoyed and experienced within the boundaries of Islam and I am very much 'middle path' in my practice. My hope is to develop an ever closer bond with my Creator.

Finally, I am a working mum who has been blessed with a beautiful child.

What I Am Looking For

We are complex as individuals and all at different points in our life journey. For me compatibility is about the sharing of certain core values and aspirations.

If you are a person with deep compassion with a desire to make a difference to the lives of others, are interested in developing spiritually, open-minded and not afraid to step out of 'the box', are seeking a best friend, companion and equal, is someone who values honesty and integrity, can balance seriousness with a bit of madness, have a sense of humour and adventure and can connect with the child within, I would be keen to hear from you.

The above is not a prescriptive list. The one 'absolute' I have is that a future partner be willing to accept my child. There is also much more to me than a string of words and a list of criteria.
